ACCESS Assault Care Center will host an open house Thursday, Sept. 13, from 9 to 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. This is an opportunity for community members to meet new agency leadership and learn more about support services available throughout the county for victims of sexual and domestic abuse.
ACCESS welcomed a new executive director, Tess Cody, to its team earlier this year. Cody has spent the last 10 years advocating on behalf of victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. This included working at the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Crisis Intervention Services and Drake University.
ACCESS is quickly bringing its new leadership into the fold as staff continues to support the needs of victims throughout their five county service area—including Greene County.
“ACCESS is dedicated to serving victims of crime in Greene County” said Cody. “Last year, ACCESS served 62 survivors of sexual or domestic abuse from Greene County. Holding open house events like this allows our staff—especially new staff like me—to better connect with community members, understand needs, and build new partnerships for the betterment of families.”
